Born at Arco di Trento to a poor family, he had a complicated life. He will become one of the most important symbolist painter of 19th century . Filippo Timi plays Segantini, enhancing the intensity of the fictional parts. Gioconda Segantini, niece of the painter, is the genealogical connection. Annie-Paul Quinsac, as an expert of Segantini’s art, together with Franco Marrocco (director of the Accademia di Brera) and Romano Turrini (historian native of Arco) take care of the artistic and historical background of the story.
